Jake Hadley enjoyed a memorable PFL debut. | PFL MMA

Jake Hadley will have to enter hostile territory to earn his second victory in the Professional Fighters League. The promotion announced Thursday that Hadley will face Spaniard Kevin Cordero in a bantamweight bout at PFL Madrid on March 20. The event will take place at Palacio Vitalegre in Madrid, Spain, and will be headlined by a middleweight championship bout between Costello van Steenis and Fabian Edwards. The card will air on the ESPN app in the United States.

A strong first impression

Hadley, a former Cage Warriors champion and seven-time UFC veteran, split his first two PFL appearances. “White Kong” made a spectacular promotional debut when he knocked out Matheus Mattos with a third-round twister at PFL World Tournament 2 on April 11. The 29-year-old Englishman couldn’t continue that momentum in his second outing as he delivered a unanimous verdict against Marcirley Alves at PFL World Tournament 6 on June 20.

Cordero, from the Canary Islands, will fight for the first time in more than a year and a half. In his most recent appearance, the 26-year-old representative of the Black Lion Team scored a flying knee knockout of Adriano Ramos at Total MMA “Gran Canaria” on June 29, 2024. That marked a three-fight skid for Cordero, who has most notably competed for organizations like Combate Global and Cage Warriors while compiling a career mark of 15-5.
