The English Hockey League (EHL) Premier Division finals return to Surbiton Hockey Club in May 2026 for what will prove to be an exciting end to the 25/26 season.
Surbiton Hockey Club has hosted the finals twice in the last five years, with the last sold-out crowd cheering on the matches in the 23/24 season.
This season’s finals weekend is the culmination of the Premier Division’s 21 rounds of matches, with teams competing in the semi-finals and final to be crowned Premier Division champions, while England’s places in the EuroHockey League are also at stake.
Surbiton’s clubhouse and grounds have undergone significant improvements in recent months, with the newly designed and refurbished bar, function rooms and outdoor areas transforming the experience for players, spectators and visitors entering the Sugden Road club.
Last season, Surbiton were crowned men’s champions after a thrilling final against Old Georgians, while Reading took the women’s title after a 1-0 win over Surbiton in a thrilling, action-packed weekend in Nottingham.
Surbiton Hockey Club was selected following a robust tender process that assessed whether it met the operational requirements of hosting events, delivering a great experience for teams, officials and spectators and demonstrating the ability to attract sell-out crowds
England Hockey Head of Sport Keith Carder said: “The EHL Premier Division Finals offer the very best that club hockey has to offer and we are delighted to be partnering with Surbiton Hockey Club for the 25/26 finals.
“The club has invested in their infrastructure and their event experience, which will lead to a fantastic finals weekend.
“We always see exciting matches at the finals, and I believe we can continue to build on previous successes and provide a real showcase for club hockey fans.”
Surbiton HC board member Fred Moore said: “We are delighted to be hosting the Finals Weekend again and expect the player and spectator experience to rise to the next level with the upgrades we have made to the club in recent months. It is exciting to bring the best of domestic hockey back to Sugden Road and we look forward to hosting a fantastic event in partnership with England Hockey.”
