Two London Pathway Development Centers (PDCs) bring the national network to seven throughout the country.
In addition to the PDCs of Greenhouse and London Academy Coming on Stream, a newly appointed Tennis England London London Talent Coach – Antony Constantinou – has also recorded his role.
The two centers have slightly different roles. London Academy is located in a school, where table tennis is the focus. Head coach Bhavin Savjani leads the Academy, where players have access to training during school hours every day of the week. Players in the identified PDC group will usually be at school
Greenhouse PDC will sit as a hub for players from the wider London who are selected by the Talent Team of England. The regular program that will start there after January, when the central location of Greenhouse in Marylebone, which has recently been repaired, to reopen.
London’s talent coach Constantinou will have an assignment in a number of areas, including supporting PDC activities on the London Academy and leading on the Greenhouse Hub.
He will also work closely with players in London who are in Hopes’s program (the U13 National Training Program) and support national activities and development of talent coach.
Antony said: “Having these centers will offer access to a consistent, high-quality training environment for that Hoop and U13 players who want to develop their game and help them continue with the English Futures program.
“An important part of my role will collaborate with these PDCs, in particular in the London area, to support their delivery and offer additional coaching and development support. I will also regularly work together with those young athletes in the London area that are already in the English Hopes team to help their development, as well as visiting and finding some competitions And to find trying and finding trying and finding trying and finding the next generation of young talent.
“I love to offer these opportunities to these young players who want to do well in table tennis, and I am very enthusiastic to start.”
London was chosen to organize a full -time talent coach because it is a current hotspot for talent. In consultation with other PDC sites throughout the country, it agreed that this direction will be taken in London and its impact on the development of players.
