England hopes Week: A light on the next generation – Table tennis England

England hopes Week, which will be launched next month, will be an annual event that the spotlight on the talent path of England shines.

Walking from 15-21 September the week will focus on promoting the path of England, Talent ID initiatives, early development coach education and culminates Hopes Challenge Cup in England.

Players, coaches and parents will all play a role in the week, who promises insight, inspiration and resources to support young athletes on their journeys – at the table.

What England hopes will cover week

Coaching education: Free online seminar aimed at supporting young athletes in the earliest stages of their development. These sessions offer practical tools and guidance for coaches who work with players in the age group aged 8 to 12 years.

Pabborn and News: Through examples from practice we will investigate how players progress through the path of England, what important transitions look like and how parents, coaches and clubs can help support that progression. We will also provide insight into a new Pathway program that will be launched in 2026 that we believe will play a key role in shaping our stars of the future.

Ouderaspectives: Parents are an essential part of the development of a young player. England Hopes week includes insights and advice from parents whose children are already part of the path, share what they have learned and what they would recommend others.

Performance behavior: We will be attention on the eight most important behavior that underlies the performance and development on the about the path – values and habits that help young players not only succeed in table tennis, but in life.

Talent -identification and progression: We will launch a new initiative to help identify upcoming talent and share how Performance Development Centers (PDCs) play a crucial role throughout the country in cherishing the next generation.

England hopes Challenge Cup: The week will culminate in the England hopes Challenge CupAn important event that will help players select for the coming ITTF World Hopes Weekwho takes place in Sheffield in October. It is a celebration of rising talent and a vital step for young athletes who want to represent England on the world stage.
