Former India Pacer Yograj Singh has praised Mohammed Siraj For his exemplary representation of fast bowling during the tour through England, especially on the last day of the fifth test, because his fascinating five-front India helped the series.
Siraj finished the series of five games as the highest wicket task. He took 23 wickets from five games at an average of 32.43 and a success rate of 48.39. The Hyderabad Pacer is praised for its grit and determination for the country while bowing more than any other bowler in the series.
Apart from applauding the efforts of Siraj and comparing him with the legendary Kapil Dev, Yograj Shubman Gill praised and said it didn’t seem as if he first supplied the test team.
“The way our players played, it was great to watch. The way Mohammed Siraj Bowde, he reminded me of Kapil Dev. The captain of Shubman Gill was mature. It didn’t seem at all that he was a captain for the first time,” Yograj was quoted by MSN.
India started the series with a defeat of five wicket in Headingley. However, they bounced back strongly to register a very first test win with Edgbaston in the second game. The Drie Lions restored their lead in the third test at Lord’s in what turned out to be a humdinger of a competition. India showed a lot of guts in the fourth test in Old Trafford and hit more than five sessions to prevent a defeat. The fifth and final test in the oval was the most meticulous affair, where the tourists won with six points.
Shubman finished the highest run scorer in the series. In 10 innings he collected 754 runs on an average of 75.40. He closed four centuries, including a double century in the second test. The Punjab -Slagman shared the player of the series prize with Harry Brook, who also had a phenomenal series, which hit 481 runs at 53.44.
