The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that has not yet aired on ITV1, but can be watched on ITVX.
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is having a hard time in Emmerdale. After the disappearance of Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), she is left to parent two young boys and run Butlers Farm on her own.
Cain is missing because John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), the man who killed his son, is on the run and he wants to find him. A few weeks ago, Caleb Miligan (William Ash) helped John get to Rotterdam on the condition that he never return to the Dales.
While Caleb thought this was a good idea, Cain did not. He packed a bag and left for France, convinced that John had to face some kind of consequence for Nate’s murder.
Moira and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) have tried to call Cain, but he doesn’t answer.

Amid this frustration, Moira is busy keeping Butler’s Farm from sinking after a difficult year, and making sure Kyle and Isaac are taken care of. A few days ago, things got even worse when she realized that Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) was late opening the garage.
She went to look for him, but Kammy refused to move until he finished his breakfast. Unbeknownst to Kammy, something was different on Moira’s shoulders, and the weight was becoming too much to bear.
When she went to work at another job in a field, Moira felt unwell and collapsed. She was found by Matty Barton (Ash Palmsciano), who feared his mother would become ill again after her brain tumor.
Moira reassured Matty and said she just wasn’t feeling 100%. Matty claimed that her life would be better if Cain stopped being selfish and came home, and Moira knew he was making a good point.
In the last episode, Matty was still helping out at Butlers because Isaac had caught Moira’s bug. When Kyle returned from school, Moira realized he was hiding a football trophy. He explained that he didn’t want to tell her about it because she had enough on her mind.

Moira felt terrible, and it was another sign that everything would be much easier if Cain remembered that his family was waiting for him at home.
She called his number, but it went straight to voicemail. After leaving a message, Moira was surprised when Cain called back.
Unfortunately, her husband was not on the other end of the line. It was actually a police officer, revealing that Cain is now in Dover and has been arrested.
What trouble has he gotten himself into now?
Could it have something to do with Jan?

Cain will be back this week, but he won’t be able to help Moira. In fact, he’ll probably make things worse.
Cain relies on booze to get him through the day and seems reluctant to talk about John and whether he has actually found him.
Moira tries to tell him that he’s a family man and needs to step up – and reminds him that Zak’s birthday is coming up, but Cain can’t hear any of it.
Belle (Eden Taylor Draper) and Sam (James Hooton) are crushed when Cain doesn’t show up at their father’s grave.
Who will help Cain feel better?
