Ekitike has given a fair response to ISAK competence at LFC

Hugo Ekitike has given his response to Alexander Isak who offers competition for places in Liverpool, whereby the record signature is expected to take the place of Ekitike in front.

The new French attacker of Liverpool has had a brilliant start of his Reds career and scored in each of his first three games, including the Shield Community.

His coupling game and clinical finish are impressed by supporters who sing all his name on the melody of the Conga upside down.

The starting place of the 23-year-old, however, will now be threatened because of the arrival of records.

Once the new No. 9 of Liverpool fits, it is expected to be a supporting pillar through the middle and would reduce the playing time of Ekitike.

However, the young attacker assumes the competition for places in his pass, and says (H/T the Metro): “It’s fun.

“If you play for the best teams, you expect to compete with the best players. Isak is also a player I have looked at, so seeing him coming is a pleasure.

“It will be a heavy competition, but I am going to concentrate on performing well, so that it is a problem for the manager.”

Although Ekitike has so far turned out to be a threat, he was also able to play from the left, with Cody Gakpo currently only being matched by 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha in that position.

“It is clear that my life has changed,” Ekitike added after making his debut for France.

“It is a big step (to Liverpool) and I have viewed a thousand times more, but I take it positive, it is really good. It is the position I wanted to be.

“If you have this kind of standard, you have to show that you belong here and that you have to keep performing, but it is a position that I like and that I want to keep.”

Ekitike is also confronted with heavy competition on the international stage, with Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Michael Olise, Desire Done and Bradley Barcola all available for manager Didier Deschamps.

The next game of France is on Tuesday evening, gone against Iceland, and Ekitike is on the right track that his debut has made with a nine-minute cameo in their recent 2-0 victory over Ukraine.

The young attacker continued: “It is a true pleasure to be part of this group of French attackers, knowing their quality.

“I consider it a learning experience because it is players who have more experience than I do in the national team.

“We don’t have much time to connect, but it’s a real pleasure to be with them. We have to rise to their level.”
