Glasgow Clan host Nottingham Panthers with the last place in the Challenge Cup semi-finals at stake. The winner advances, while the loser is eliminated from the competition. There will be no second legs or replays, so the result must be decided on the evening.
Clan and Panthers have already met twice this season. In Nottingham the Panthers claimed a 7-1 victory, while they followed that up with a narrower 4-3 victory in Braehead, giving them the edge in the head-to-head battle so far.
Braehead Arena was a strong venue for Clan in the Challenge Cup. They lost only once in six home games during the group stage. However, Nottingham were effective on the road, recording four of their six group stage wins away from home.
What if the match is tied after 60 minutes?
- If the scores are tied at the end of regular time, a 10-minute extra period will be played in 3-on-3.
- If the match is still tied after overtime, it will be decided by a standard EIHL shootout. Each team will take five shots, followed by sudden death if necessary.
Remote situation Room in operation
- All video assessments, both referee-led and Coach’s Challenge, will be assessed remotely in the EIHL Situation Room. This also includes assessments for heavy fines.
- In addition to goalkeeper interference, coaches can also insist on offside and a ‘missed stoppage of play’. The Situation Room can only make a judgment based on the video angles provided and does not have access to any additional feeds.
- If communication with the Situation Room fails, the match officials will make the final decision
