Sharing some simple and healthy Airbnb recipes that you can make for longer vacations or when you want to save some money during your trip.
Hello friends! I hope you had a nice weekend and that you are doing well. After taking some free time at the end of last week, I am back in the swing of things here on the blog. Writing here has always been a bright spot for me and I hope it is also a bright spot for you. <3
I am impossible to ignore the gravity of recent events: the loss of Charlie Kirk, the tragedy of the shooting at school, the woman who was killed on public transport and memory of 9/11. It has been a lot. If you feel sad or gravity, please know I see you, I feel it too and I will send you a big hug through the screen.
In the spirit of focusing on some of the simple pleasures, I wanted to share something lighter today: simple and healthy Airbnb recipes. I wanted to publish this since we have returned from Spain and now we are in September. No time as the present 😉
Easy and healthy Airbnb recipes for travel
Why we cook at Airbnbs while traveling
If we travel, we have learned that eating out for every meal just doesn’t work for us. It will be expensive quickly, restaurant meals can be heavy and the children do not really like to sit at a table three times a day.
What works better for us: eating out for one big meal a day (usually lunch or dinner), and enjoying fast snacks, or making the rest of our meals easy and fresh in the Airbnb. It is not only more budget -friendly, but it also feels nice to shop local markets, enjoy regional specialties and to gather for an informal family dinner. The restaurants and cafés on which we dine are also great; It is better to spend on one larger, great meal than a set of mediocre places during the day.
During our trip to Spain, some of my favorite memories cook next to my friend Sam. She would make one or two dishes, I would make something at the Airbnb and we would walk, and the children ran around while we eat well, good wine and good company shared. This is how holiday meals should feel! We looked forward to our familyiners, and because they live there, they did not have to feel that they had to feed us all or go to restaurants several times. We shared the cooking and cleaning tax and it was great.

Traveling does not necessarily mean that you will blow your budget or feel slow after too many heavy meals. With a quick shopping trip and a few simple recipes, you can enjoy healthy, delicious meals in your Airbnb.
I think there is something so special to gather around the table with family or friends, and the sharing of food you have prepared together. It makes the journey much more memorable.
Tell me, friends: do you cook if you stay in Airbnbs, or do you prefer to eat most of the time? Share your go-to holiday meal in the responses, so that we can all be inspired for our next trip!
XOXO
Gina
