Why write this? Prof. Dr. Brian Ripley has sent a request about “No HTML -E -Mails” to a few Ropenci members and yours really without further clarification. Here is a short and practical guide for sending e -mails of regular text in Gmail, Outlook and Thunderbird, which is useful for accessibility. This is relevant for users who depend on text-to-voters due to vision problems.
Switch your e -mail client to the text of the regular text before sending technical questions to cran- and/or r -mailing lists. This helps all users, including people with accessibility needs.
Gmail
- Compile a new e -mail.
- Click on the three points (more options) on the layout workbar.
- Select “Text mode for habit text”.
- Confirm switching (this removes formatting).
- Write and send your message.
Prospect
- New e -mail → Go to the Text tab in the format.
- Click on “Text of normal text” in the layout section.
- Write and send your message.
Thunderbird
- Write → New message.
- Go to Options → Format → Text without regular text.
- Write and send your message.
