Dynasty Trades Reality Check: Parker Washington – Dynasty League Football

I was really high on Parker Washington when he was at Penn State. After Jahan Dotson’s big 2021, I thought Washington would take over and have just as big a year. That didn’t happen, as Washington’s production actually dropped from 64 catches for 820 yards to 46 catches for 611 yards in 2022. Even with the drop in production, I thought he could still be a top-four receiver in the 2023 NFL Draft. He fell in the sixth round to the Jaguars, which made me happy since I live in Jacksonville, but the receiving room looked crowded, especially with Christian Kirk filling the role that Washington would be best suited for.

As a rookie, Washington played sparingly, catching 16 of 21 targets for 132 yards and two touchdowns. 2024 seemed much the same until Kirk was injured and Washington had a career game against the Texans with six catches for 103 yards and a touchdown. Kirk missed the rest of the season, but Washington never saw consistent success. In the last five games after his big performance, he combined for just 169 receiving yards.

By 2025, there was a new coaching staff with Liam Coen, and the spot had finally become available with the trade of Christian Kirk. That didn’t last long as Dyami Brown was signed and Travis Hunter was selected in the draft. Early on, Washington had the biggest impact on kick returns, but as the season progressed, he became one of the team’s top receivers. Hunter was injured and Brian Thomas struggled for much of the season. Washington finished the season with six of its last ten games with more than 70 receiving yards and was the team’s leading receiver with 954 yards.

What does that mean for 2026 and beyond? The Jaguars hinted that Travis Hunter will be used more on defense next year, and Jakobi Meyers was extended. Meyers and Washington can coexist with both players moving inside and outside. Meyers played for the Jaguars starting in week ten and the splits in the slot were Meyers’ 120 snaps and Washington’s 194 snaps. On the outside, the split was 366 for Meyers and 184 for Washington. This is the final year of his contract, but the Jaguars have said they want to make a deal. At worst, he should be in the three-receiver sets for the Jaguars.

In terms of PPR scores in 2025, Washington was the 27th-ranked wide receiver, but if you go from Week 12 to 18, he moved up to WR11. So what is the value for Washington heading into the offseason? Let’s look at some trades

This is an interesting trading scenario for me. The question remains: Is there a possibility of Joe Burrow being traded by the Bengals? Another issue is the injury status of both Burrow and Tee Higgins. When healthy, the offense is deadly, but Higgins hasn’t rushed for more than 1,000 receiving yards since 2022. Even with some uncertainty, this would not be the price I would sell Higgins at. At the very least, I would need a higher pick in the second round, and that still might not be enough.

This is the kind of price I’ll take all day in a trade for Washington. The third and fourth round picks are lottery tickets and you’re not sure what you got. I know Washington only had one super productive season, but he does have a history of big plays. Even if he doesn’t get cut by the Jaguars, he will most likely end up in a spot where he could be the number two receiver in 2027.

On larger trades I like to look at similar pieces and check which side wins on each piece. I’m a big fan of AJ Barner, and he’s younger than Mike Gesicki, so that’s a big win for Team B. Malik Washington and Tre Harris are a disaster for me right now because they haven’t shown enough to be consistent starters. Personally, I would choose Washington over Quentin Johnston. I know Johnston has rebounded well from his rookie season with back-to-back 700-yard seasons, but he’s been very inconsistent.

The Chargers can continue to upgrade weapons, and Washington appears to be a higher ceiling guy for at least the next year. Now the draft pick in this trade is a big jump up from 2.12 to 1.06. Right now in SF, rookie drafts that would be Denzel Boston or Kenyon Sadiq territory. While 2.12 could get you Skyler Bell and Michael Trigg. So, while a better value than the normal high ceiling value as a top six rookie pick in the first round. This would be a different transaction. I’d like to get Washington on my team.

Many managers try to make a big impression for big players in the offseason. Sometimes all your team needs to do is find that player ready to break out further. In that case, I think Parker Washington is a good candidate to repeat the success and cross the 1,000-yard mark. Coen’s offense has backed three top 50 receivers in fantasy over the past two years and looks set to continue in 2026.
