The Dynasty Targets Acquired series focuses on making dynasty buys to improve your roster, en route to one of two main destinations: competing for a Dynasty title in 2025 or rebuilding for a Dynasty title challenge in 2026. Each article in the series highlights a dynasty buy for both contenders and rebuilders – with three trade ideas based on the DLF Trade Analyzer: Turn up, Same level or Turn down.
When you buy as a contender, it’s all about winning the title while keeping the opportunity open to compete again year after year. Buying as a rebuilder is all about making the right trades to maximize roster value next season and become a contender for a dynasty championship.
Time, context and strategy
This week is the championship in the Dynasty fantasy football leagues. There’s one last week of action before we all go into off-season mode. In most leagues, there are only two teams left that are still considered ‘contenders’. That’s why we’re going to highlight someone who can play a big game this week for that purpose. Second place is fine, but nothing shines like a dynasty fantasy football championship. If you are still allowed to trade your competitions, go out and grab the winning piece of the competition.
Everyone else in the league is now “rebuilding” for a championship run in 2026 and beyond. There are different levels of teams ‘rebuilding’, some having to build their roster from scratch. Others may only need one or two rookies in the rookie draft to strengthen their roster. For this exercise, we’ll highlight a player who will help a middle-of-the-road rebuilder who may need an additional starter or two to push him over the top in 2026. Remember, the championship contenders are desperate to make a move to win a championship, so be prepared to make them overpay for the players they want in their fantasy lineups!
