It is thought that a large American hotspot is ‘dying’ because the number of tourists has decreased considerably since last year. Experts have given their opinion about the reason for this downfall.
A beloved hotspot in the US experiences a dramatic fall in visitor numbers. Las Vegas stands like an internationally renowned Major Resort City, celebrated for its casinos, shows, beautiful kitchen and buzzing nightlife.
The most populated city in Nevada has served as a background for a number of Hollywood -Blockbusters, including Ocean’s Eleven, The Hangover and what happens in Vegas. Yet tourism to this iconic American location has fallen, with specialists who reveal the reasons behind the decline. This care was brought to the attention by race over the world champion, Alfie Watts, who traveled to Las Vegas to investigate what causes the fall in holidaymakers.
He documented his last trip to the Metropolis and placed it on Tiktok. The BBC TV personality said: “Vegas tourism falls from a cliff and I started to find out why.
“This city is a neon soaked fever dream of surplus. You can eat in Paris, cocktails in Venice and you lose all your money in New York before midnight.”
Las Vegas has hotels modeled on Paris, Venice and New York that are made to resemble these destinations.
Watts continued: “It is outrageous and it is unique, but it is still incredible, but it used to be the whole point of Vegas that you didn’t have to be rich to live like that for a weekend.”
During the first half of this year, Las Vegas saw a decrease of 7.3 percent in the number of visitors compared to the same period last year, where only June witnessed a decrease of 11 percent, as reported by Investopedia.
Watts attributes this decrease to the increasing costs of hotels and food and drinks. He went out: “It used to be the ultimate weekend bladder, the wild stag do’s, the girls’ trips, the spontaneous outing where you returned, broke, broke.
“Now it is priced in special occasion only territory and when the magic costs so much, people start asking if they can get it somewhere else cheaper.”
The TV star and the reputable travel content maker led to that hotel rooms that “ever cost almost nothing” are now comparable to the price of a city break in Paris.
He added: “Thirty years ago, Vegas was the place for outrageous pleasure, but now you can get a similar weekend in Dubai, Ibiza and Cancun, and very often for half the price.”
However, he admitted that Las Vegas still has his unique charm with his dazzling lights, lively energy, stunning events, world -class cuisine and the possibility to dance 4 hours in a lobby of a hotel “in the form of ancient Rome.”
Watts concluded: “Vegas is still a glitter cannon in the desert. It is just that nowadays the glitter is a bit more unattractive because it is a lot more expensive.”
Investopedia emphasized additional factors that chase tourists away from Las Vegas, including fewer flights coming from Canada and other countries in the US, partly due to escalating tensions of trade rows between the Trump and foreign governments government.
Technology can also play a role, because sports betting apps and online gaming mean that gamblers no longer have to travel to Las Vegas to gamble.
In the caption of his Tiktok Post, Watts argued that Las Vegas is “dying” and “refueling” international arrivals.
The video has put on a number of comments with viewers who have their opinion.
It was said: “The millennials don’t gamble and if they do, it’s online and they are also smart with their money, they don’t go somewhere where they have to pay this, that and [the] Other. “
Another noticed: “ridiculous” resort costs “and the shameful tilt culture is not very attractive when everything else becomes more expensive.”
A third stated: “Nobody younger than 40 cares about Vegas.” Another viewer suggested: “Downtown Vegas is the place to be. Cheaper rooms, food and drinks.”
