Dustin Poirier played the page of his fighting career and his biggest supporter shows her appreciation.
After the loss of Poirier against Max Holloway in his last fight on UFC 318 in July, the wife of the former interim light weight champion Jolie placed a sincere message to her husband on Instagram to celebrate his performance in and out of the Octagon.
“I am always afraid of the thought that you ran away from the sport you have formed in the incredible man you are today, but when the weeks pass, I am so grateful,” Poirier wrote. “The good, the bad, the ups, the downs, the performance, the setbacks, but especially the lessons we have learned along the way. You have really inspired us to chase our dreams, regardless of which obstacles are waiting.
“You have created a great life for us and we have even more to look forward to. Congratulations on a great fighting career! You have earned every moment of this new chapter and every step of the road is supported with so much love and admiration. A real role model for so many, especially our daughter and babyboy to tell.
“The Diamond” called it a career with a pro-record of 30-10, 1 AD, including 22 victories in the Octagon. Poirier has a few victories over Holloway-from where there is his interim-title gain on UFC 236 in April 2019-samen with two stop wins on former two-division champion Conor McGregor.
In his last fight, Poirier Holloway challenged for the BMF title in a complete circular event for a crowd of hometown in New Orleans.
