The Los Angeles Dodgers came from the Trade Deadline with fewer movements than the baseball world predicted that they would make, but they still made quality retirement to the necessary areas of the schedule.
After the smoke had disappeared, Catcher Hunter Feduccia, outfielder James Outman and right -handed Dustin May were no longer with the team. May, who had been in the Dodgers organization since he had been in 2016, was turned to the Boston Red Sox for a few prospects.

The 27-year-old recently shed more light on what the process led to the end of his Dodgers official period, and how the wealth of talent in LA may have contributed to his landing in Boston.
“I was pushed out a bit,” said May. “We had quite a few guys in that organization there.
He added how excited he was to be in Boston now.
“I can’t be more excited. It is sensation to be here and to be part of it,” said May.
“It was definitely a ride of emotions, up and down. I was absolutely sad because I have been there my entire career, but absolutely whole, very enthusiastic to become a member of this organization and to hope for a play -off Push.”

In the midst of a 4.85 ERA season, May trending to a role from the rotation and in the bullpen. With several pitchers who return to the injured list the following month, it was unlikely that May earned a place in the postseason selection, which made him replaceable as an expired contract.
May spoke about what the communication was between him and the Dodgers prior to Deadline Day.
“Communication was great,” said May. “It was a bit like, if things fit perfectly on both ends, then we can let it work. I don’t think they were trying to push anything, but it worked on both sides. So I am excited to be here.”
May completes the Dodgers chapter of his career with an ERA of 3.71. He played a key role in the 2020 World Series Championship.
