Dresden Row Tops FT January digital sale for $575,000

The January 2026 Digital Sale closed on January 20 with gross sales of $4,514,500 for 160 horses sold. The auction started on January 15. The offering included horses of racing age, racing prospects/broodmare prospects, racing/stallion prospects, short yearlings and a stallion season.

Dresden Row (Hip 1), Canada’s 2024 Sovereign Award-winning 3-year-old male, topped sales when sold for $575,000 to Marc Gunderson’s MWG from the consignment of agent Jeffrey Bloom. In his most recent start, the 5-year-old son of Lord Nelson captured the Autumn Stakes (G3). Woodbine. The highly consistent Dresden Row has finished in the money in all 15 of his starts to date, including three stakes victories and earnings of $448,803.

Other top hips included:

• Alisal (Hip 22), a 3-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo, sold to Rafter C Ranch for $260,000. Alisal was a two-time winner as a youth, finishing second in her stakes debut in her most recent start. She is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Secret Message. Alisal was consigned as a racing/broodmare prospect by Warrendale Sales, agent.

• Sugar Rocket (hip 18), a 4-year-old daughter of Spinning candy sold for $250,000 to MKW Racing & Breeding. A full sister of class 1 winner and millionaire Pinehurst Sugar Rocket was consigned by ELiTE, agent, as a racing/broodmare.

• Jacksmybrother (hip 9), pregnant with Vekoma sold for $220,000 to B. F. Sams, agent. A Mo city half-sister of multiple degree 1-winning millionaire Jack Christopher Jacksmybrother was sent by Legacy Bloodstock, agent.

“We started the year with a bang,” says Leif Aaron, Digital Sales Director at Fasig-Tipton. “Gross is up 45% from last January and demand for racehorses continues to exceed expectations. We had more than 1,000 registered bidders and offers from Alberta, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. That kind of reach is truly impressive and a true credit to both our clients and our team.”

A total of 160 horses were sold for $4,514,500. Twenty-two listings sold for $50,000 or more. The average price was $28,475, with a median of $11,000. Fifty-four horses did not meet their reserve, resulting in an RNA percentage of 25.1%.
