DPM Metals Inc. (TSX: DPM, OTC: DPMLF, ASX: DPM) (“DPM” or “The Company”) confirmed that it received notification from the Ministry of Environment and Energy that it has withdrawn the environmental permit for the Loma Larga project in Ecuador.
“DPM is committed to the highest standards of environmental management and transparency, and we strictly meet the laws in the countries where we are active,” said David Rae, President and CEO.
“We are deeply concerned about the decision to withdraw our environmental permit, which was issued in June after a rigorous process by the government to ensure that high Ecuadorian standards are applied to the development of Loma Larga. We are convinced that our environmental management plan and the robust environmental measures for Loma Larga are in accordance.
“Responsible management of water and the sensitive ecosystem of the environment near Loma Larga are important considerations in the design of the project. Water studies carried out by independent experts, DPM and the regulators, consistently show that the project would have no adverse consequences for the water supply.
“In the light of this development, we assess all available options to retain value and to retain the optionality for our shareholders.”
