DP World becomes title, umbrella partner of PGTI in a multi-year agreement

The Professional Golf Tour of India on Friday announced a multi-year partnership with global logistics giant DP World, becoming the Tour’s title and official umbrella partner.

The partnership is a defining milestone for the Tour and strengthens its growth trajectory and global integration, said a statement from PGTI.

The agreement was signed by Rizwan Soomar, CEO of DP World and MD MENA and India Subcontinent and Tour CEO Amandeep Johl.

DP World will work with the PGTI to improve infrastructure and long-term sustainability, create global pathways for India’s leading professionals, and support grassroots and junior development programs.

The initiative will also elevate the stature of the Indian golf sector by positioning India as a key hub within DP World’s global golf ecosystem, the statement said.

As a leading provider of integrated logistics solutions and title partner of the European Tour, DP World’s involvement underlines its strategic commitment to golf.

Crucial place

“India is central to DP World’s global vision and is among our most dynamic and strategic markets,” Soomar said at the signing.

“In India, DP World is investing in building long-term capabilities… Our partnership with PGTI as the official umbrella partner reinforces this commitment.

“Golf in India is experiencing strong momentum with significant untapped potential, and this partnership allows us to play a meaningful role in accelerating its growth.

“By supporting the PGTI, we are investing in grassroots development, nurturing young talent and creating opportunities for Indian golfers to compete with confidence on the world stage.”

In 2025, the company launched the DP World India Championship, sanctioned by both the DP World Tour and the PGTI, with plans to make it a permanent feature.
