Doordash is expanding to restaurant reservations and robot deliveries

San Francisco (AP) – Dooordash Extends its offer, adds restaurant reservations and robot deliveries in some American markets.

The company established in San Francisco, all the largest American delivery supplier, announced its expansion plans on Tuesday and said that it wants to bring even more things to the traders with whom it works and to stay ahead of the ever -increasing customer demand. The total orders of Dordash increased by 20% to 761 million in the second quarter of this year.

Doordash’s robots Will bring new challenges for the company, because it takes responsibility for storing and maintaining the devices. But co-founder of Dordash Stanley Tang said that the company needs more delivery options to feed its future growth.

“The shift to autonomy is happening now and Doordash is unique positioned to do something like this,” Tang said on Monday during an interview at San Francisco’s head office of the company. “We must find ways to keep up with the question. The complexity of the deliveries made on our platform is also increasing.”

Nevertheless, investors seemed lukewarm about the company’s plans. Doordash shares fell by 1%on Tuesday.

Dordash’s plans also threaten other delivery and reservation platforms such as Opentable and Instacart. On Monday, after Doordash said it would do that Expand his partnership with Kroger To offer delivery to the 2,700 American stores of the grocer, the shares of Instacart fell by 10%.
