Donald Trump furious at ‘animal’ National Guard shot

Donald Trump has launched a furious attack on the ‘animal’ who shot two National Guard members as he sent a huge six-word warning to the suspect. The two victims, a man and a woman, were both members of the West Virginia National Guard. Jeff Carroll, chief of the area’s metropolitan police, told a news conference: “Both individuals, the guardsmen, are currently in critical condition at a local hospital and are being treated. At this time we have no other suspects. It appears to be a lone gunman who raised a firearm and ambushed these National Guard members, and he was quickly taken into custody by other National Guard members.”

On his online platform Truth Social, the US president warned the gunman that they “will pay a very high price”. He said, “The animal that shot the two National Guardsmen, both of whom were seriously injured and are now in two separate hospitals, is also seriously injured, but will pay a very high price regardless. God bless our Great National Guard and all of our military and law enforcement agencies. These are truly wonderful people. I, as President of the United States, and everyone associated with the Office of the Presidency, am with you!”

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem added, “Please join me in praying for the two National Guardsmen just shot in Washington, DC.”

“It is a somber reminder that soldiers, whether active duty, reserve or in the National Guard, soldiers are the sword and shield of the United States of America.

Vice President J.D. Vance, who is visiting U.S. troops at Fort Campbell today to celebrate Thanksgiving, interrupted his speech to honor the victims.

He said, “As someone who goes to work in that building every day and knows that there are many people wearing the uniform of the United States Army, thank them for what they do. We pray that they will be safe and spend Thanksgiving with their families.”

FBI Director Kash Patel has now confirmed that the agency is at the scene of the shooting. Deputy Director Dan Bongino said in a social media post: “FBI personnel are assisting with the investigation into the shooting of our National Guard members in DC.

“Please take a moment and pray for these heroes and their families.

“God bless America and all who defend her.”

When the White House learned of the shooting, it subsequently went into lockdown. According to DC police, one suspect is in custody.
