As a blogger, I think it is very important to stay informed of what is happening in the online community. Mastering the Internet of Things and its various opportunistic sectors has become quite an existential requirement for online careerists like us. That’s why I’m always looking for events and places where such brainstorming and leading discussions take place. This week DomainX was one such event. I had no idea what awaited me. In fact, it literally changed my views about the online world and made me come to terms with the fact that IoT offers limitless possibilities for people like us.

Held at the Taj West End Hotel, in the beautiful and hi-tech city of Bangalore, DomainX brought together the world’s leading and emerging domains and curated an intellectual array of ideas and concepts on their current and future scope. If you have no idea about what domaining is, let me clarify. It is the process of selling and purchasing domains with the main objective of making profit. It’s like real estate where each domain, such as a .com, .net or .info, is assessed on various factors such as traffic and revenue potential, and then sold to buyers. It is a multi-billion dollar industry and is home to many millionaire entrepreneurs.
DomainX is led by Manmeet Pal Singh of Gaurav Kholi be a co-organizer. Other team members include Pankaj Vijajvargiya, Dhairya Cholera and Hardik Modi, who did an excellent job organizing and running the event on Friday and Saturday at the exquisite Taj West End.
I was aware of the domain sector beforehand thanks to the friendship with Aishwin Vikhona from Global Websoft, who had a large presence at the event. In the two days, my entire knowledge and insights about the domain sector were expanded to a whole new level.
This was due to ecstatic meetings and brainstorming sessions with the professionals themselves Ron Jacksonowner of DNJournal, Frank Tillmans and Sophie Piek who represented Sedo at DomainX. Among other giants were DomainX’s brand ambassador Deepak registry who is also known as the father of Indian domain marketing, Martjin Schneider from HousingAgent.com and Ned O’Meara of Domainer.com.au. All the intriguing sessions and extensive networking were accompanied by an array of excellent Indian dishes, which kept us on our feet the entire time!
Another great attraction that lit my heart with pride was my friend’s book launch Aishwin Vikhona’s bookSell domains fast. It wasn’t just for him, as the evening ended with him receiving the industry’s rising star award. It was exciting to see how domain expert Ron Jackson helped Aishwin promote his book to the aspiring enthusiastic domain owners who learned a lot about mastering the industry from the experts themselves.
DomainX was a glimpse into the infinite potential of the domain industry and how it has helped and can help countless business people around the world build successful businesses. I myself was so inspired by my conversations and interviews with these experts who have created their own markets and loyal followers based on the premium and innovative quality of their services.
As the event ended, I concluded something important. It’s important for bloggers and digipreneurs like us to stay focused on our industry: the Internet. It will help us know the latest possibilities and who knows, maybe there is something that will eventually take us to everything we have ever dreamed of! I will now look forward to such sessions more than ever before. They may be expensive, but trust me, the value addition to your mind, network and portfolio is worth it!
