Does Bath Body & Works actually smell ‘new’ football season ‘Candles actually?

Training camp is in. Optimism is high. The football season is almost coming. The odor engineers at Bath & Body Works hope to take advantage of your excitement for football with a new “football season” Scented Candle, which will certainly refresh your house and have guests asked questions such as “Why did you buy a candle called” Football Season “?”

As soon as we got wind that there was a bad & body working with football theme, we knew something had to be done. So our writers James Dator and Mark Schofield were sent to their local stores to pick up the “football season” and give their thoughts.

Now, to make this an honest and balanced candle review, we refused to discuss our feelings about the candle, instead we choose to write independently. This will now be called “odor”. The first time we see what each other thought about ‘football season’ is here, now.

This is a good smelling candle. I don’t go forward and pretend that it smells terribly because it is very nice. With three dogs, including a very flatulent Staffordshire Bull Terrier, we are definitely a scented candle household to prevent our house from smell like 1,000 egg separations.

That said, there is very little about “football season” that reminds me of the football season. It was clear that I did not expect the candle to smell of leather, grass and dirt – because the idea of the candle evokes a feeling, a mood. The issue is that the feeling that is called here is from someone who has never been to a football match and only has this characteristic view of the sport that has everything about cuddling under a blanket in stands, complete with a cup of hot chocolate.

The overwhelming scent of “football season” is Eucalyptus, which is really shocking as someone from Australia. It is the least conceivable American scent, and not something that I would ever associate with autumn. In the case of the candle it is used as a generic scent of the ‘green’ type, I suppose it is a bit grassy – but I grew up with the regular eucalyptus, so I was able to switch it off immediately.

Besides that there is a big hint of autumn. Not completely ‘browse’, which is a favorite bath and body, every fall works in our household in our household. It also shows that this is an autumn candle with the orange color, which falls somewhere between that of a football and a pumpkin.

This is a really nice candle that summer and autumn with bridges, but there is nothing that reads for me as “football”.

Mark Schofield

“You are here to pick up the two” football seasons, “correctly?”

Hearing that question emphasizes the surrealistic … almost the absurdity … of where life finds me this Tuesday afternoon. It is deep in the heart of July, almost August, and the weather in the suburbs of Maryland of the capital of our nation is suppressive damp. With air temperatures that approach 100 degrees and a heat index more than 100, it is too hot to be outside.

And absolutely not the weather to be in a bath and the body works to buy a candle called “football season”, which should smell like “related to the stands with a warm flannel blanket.”

The things we do for content.

The idea is simple: about a football season, a handful SB Nation Writers would pick up the candle and … share their notes. Similar to a wine tasting, where one would share notes about hints of chocolate, red fruits, strong aromas and more.

But with a candle and an undertone football.

I come home, remove the candle from the bag, pop out the top and … inhale.

There are a few hints of what I could describe here as an autumn, but more of the “strong Cologne” variation and less of the “sitting on cold metal grandstands and being disappointed in your favorite football team” variety, as a football seasons have recently gone for me as a New England Patriots fan.

Regarding the scents that remember an autumn, there is a woody scent for this candle (from the description I assume that it would be cedar wood). After a few minutes I picked up the sage and eucalyptus.

Again, not exaggerated reminiscent of football, but certainly reminiscent of autumn.

After all, that is a football season … so I think it works.

I will add this candle to the autumn strotation.

Do I have to buy the candle “football season”?

Do you like to illuminate candles in the fall? If so, then – certainly, why not. It is a bit stupid to have something on your coffee table with a pennant who, however, reads “Go Team” on it.
