The Dodgers later announced that Edman was suffering from a judge as he completed the first base.
Roberts gave the last update about the Utility man after the 3-0 victory of the Dodgers at the Tampa Bay Rays.
“It’s a repeat of what he has to deal with,” said Roberts. “I think once he touches the bag … I just don’t see how it’s not Il. We clearly get Muncy back, so that will probably be the move.”
Roberts believes that Edman will bring more than two weeks to the side due to the ankle disease. The 30-year-old also spoke about the recurring injury and revealed how frustrating the injury this season was for him.
“It felt a bit worse than what I felt in Boston last week, just got strange on the base,” said Edman. “I think it is too early to say, we will find out once looking at the images. It is a shame, I try to play the game hard, but it is difficult to do that if I have the feeling that I don’t have the stability I need there. I have done rehabilitation things every day, treatment stuff after the game. I don’t do what I can do otherwise.”
Although it is a pity that Edman is probably on his way to the IL, it is the best that the Utility man is fully recovered to be ready for the late season.
