Today the Dodgers and Phillies will start their National League Division series in Philadelphia, while the Underdog Dodgers down the second seed in the National League. Before Alex covered something else, Alex wrote a Very thorough preview of these NLDs Matchup between the two parties that I strongly advise you, because it describes so much more than I could treat in a game wire. This section at the end of the preview has really summarized most of this matchup.

The Brewers took the top seed home in the NL, but this really feels like the matchup between the two best teams in the competition. The Dodgers have the attacking firepower to compete against everyone and the rotation should be the best in the play -offs, but it all comes to the bullpen. The bullpen (and sloppy defense) survived against the Reds, but that will not cut it against a team such as the Phillies (or Brewers/Cubs or the person who takes it out of the already). This feels like it will be a classic of a series, and let’s hope it will be the Dodgers manner.

In essence, the attack and rotation must both continue to carry out how they have against stricter pitching and a more difficult line -up than that of the Reds, while the bullpen have to find out how to get some outs. There is no way to the last part, because the pen covered all 4.1 innings in the Wild Card series, while allowing five points and seven to be free. The only clean inning came from Roki Sasakiwhich is thrown directly into the fire and must be ready to pitch in large places on this series. If the rotation is sharp, the pen does not have to cover a lot of innings, but Dave Roberts Will still have very difficult decisions to take when the starters leave the game.

Shohei Ohtani Will take the hill tonight in the series opener, but because of the considerable free time between games in this series, Tyler GlasNow Will be available from the bull pen while they are still on the rails to start game 4 if they need it. In the meantime, Cristopher Sanchez Will be on the hill for Philadelphia, looking for the closing of the Dodgers and securing this opening match for the Phillies.

The Dodgers will save their best line-up against left-handed pitching, with Kiké Hernández Get the start on third base Max Muncy is on the couch. It is a difficult call, but it is definitely the right step with Kiké’s NASEASONSUSCHES, as well as Muncy’s struggles against left -handed pitching. Tommy Edman will be on second base while Alex CallAndy -PagesAnd Teoscar hernández Cover the outfield.

The Phillies prefer the right-handed pitching, because everyone in this line-up apart from Bohm and Kepler have been above average against them this year. Again, for a more detailed view of the line -up and attack of the Phillies, View the NLDS -Preview.

This is how Ohtani and Sánchez did this season.

Ohtani will make his late season debut on the hill and enter the hostile environment in Philadelphia against a serious foul. He faced them during the last series between these two teams and threw five no-hit innings with only one walk allowed. He has only thrown 47 innings this season, but his strikeout minus running speed (K%-BB%) of 28.2%would have led baseball among all starters with at least 100 innings. That is both ahead Shoveled (27.8%), the probably back-to-back soon Cy YoungAnd Zack Wheeler (27.7%), who has been consistently one of the best pitchers in baseball for almost half a decade. Under 402 pitchers with at least 40 innings, the 1.90 FIP of Ohtani is second behind Aroldis Chapman (1.73). That is an addition to the fact that he currently has a .325 Babip against him, despite a sign of .268 his last three seasons on the hill. He has been nothing less than dominant and would be a very strong competition for the Cy Young Award if he had thrown for an entire season.

He finally threw his last time out in a scoreless outing against the Diamondbacks through the sixth inning, ending his season in excellent form. He had only allowed one run on his last four starts and 19.2 innings, with 27 strikeouts to only four walks with batters who only hit him. Hopefully he will be sharp tonight, because when he is, there are few who can match him.

For Sanchez, the following excerpt comes from the pin wire before the Dodgers were last on September 16. They managed to set up four runs against him, because the right-handed batters in the line-up saw him well, although he still managed to endure seven innings and win the Phillies in a position to win that game.

Cristopher Sanchez Makes his 30th start of the season. He came to Cy Young last season in Cy Young and is actually better in all respects this season. Sanchez has an ERA of 2.57 in 182 1/3 Innings (which exceeds its innings in 31 starts last season) and this season has allowed more than three runs in just three of its 29 starts. One of them came across the Dodgers in his second start of the season, when he allowed four runs and six hits (two homers). Sanchez has only had two scoreless trips this season, but has also had only six starts that allow more than two runs. He has completed six innings in 22 of his 29 starts, but has only four starts above 100 fields. Sanchez has allowed one point in each of his last three starts, but allowed 11 runs about his previous three starts.

Sanchez throws a zinc shut almost half the time (45.3 percent). His 58.3 percent ground ball percentage is the third highest under qualified starters and he has only allowed 10 homers, tied up with Paul Scenes And David Peterson (who has thrown 20 innings less than Sanchez) for the least allowed. Sanchez has not allowed a Homer to go back in his last eight until July 28, where he naturally allowed two to the White Sox (one of his three begins to allow more than three runs). Sanchez throws a switch almost exclusively to the judges (38.1 percent of use, 926 of its 1006 switches have been to Righties) and has allowed a scent of 44.4 percent and .196 Woba. His third throw is a slider (use of 16.6 percent), and despite the fact that it is its least used pitch, it has been his most transmitted pitch (five of his 10 gays have come from the slider).

Two of his worst starts of the season have now come across the Dodgers, because he spent four weeks four weeks ago against them four weeks ago and allowed two weeks ago in the first April. He ended his season very sharp, while he threw two scoreless trips to close the year and hit 14 in 12.2 innings with only five hits and one walk allowed. He will almost certainly be second in the National Competition of Cy Young -Voting, and he will be incredibly difficult to beat at home. The bats will have to appear.

In other news,

Leg rortvedt Has been great for the Dodgers, but Will Smith Is an important part in the middle of the order and can really cause some damage to the left -handed rotation that the Phillies have.

Justin Wobleski And Edgardo Henriquez are both off the schedule in favor of Clayton Kershaw And Anthony Banda. The team is wearing three catchers and two defensive replacements, so unfortunately people in the bullpen had to be cut out for their replacements.
