Dodgers Notes: Drake Trolls Shohei Ohtani, Embarrassing World Series Performance, LA Faces Elimination

The Los Angeles Dodgers were embarrassed during Game 5 of the World Series, losing 6-1 to the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday. From a home run allowed on Blake Snell’s first pitch of the game, to the next home run two pitches later, things were bleak from the jump for LA.

Before the final loss, manager Dave Roberts shuffled the lineup, moving Mookie Betts to third, Will Smith to second, and trading Andy Pages for Alex Call. Smith, Betts and Call combined for five strikeouts and one hit on the night, with Smith singled in the ninth inning.

As the Dodgers head to Toronto for Game 6, their backs will be against the wall as they need to win two in a row to become baseball’s first consecutive champions in a quarter century. History is also against the Dodgers, as the last four instances where one LCS went to seven games and the other was a sweep, the team that went seven games won the World Series.

And to make matters worse, after the match, the Canadian rapper Drake took to Instagram to troll Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers as they return to Toronto, where they are eliminated.
