Kyle Tucker and former Dodger Cody Bellinger are both on the open market and present meaningful upgrades over the team’s current outfield options.
Bellinger is a rangy center fielder who can play all three outfield positions, and he has rebuilt his confidence as a hitter and unlocked some of his former slugging skills.

Tucker is an all-around talent who is more of a corner outfielder, although he has been more consistent than Bellinger and continues to trend each season.
Between the two options, Bellinger would be expected to make less than Tucker, and he could be more willing to accept a shorter-term deal with a high salary, something the Dodgers are ideally looking to do this season for all their ideals.
According to The Athletic’s Jim Bowden, the Dodgers are in the running to sign Bellinger, a shocking development considering how the player and team parted ways just a handful of years ago.
“The market for Cody Bellinger is robust, with the most likely outcome being him signing with a major market, with the team as expected with the Yankees Mets and Dodgers being the most likely landing spots for him at this point in that order,” Bowden wrote on X.

Last season, Bellinger hit .272/.334/.480 with 29 home runs and 98 RBIs for a 125 OPS+, which is better than his career average.
His 2025 campaign was rated at 5.1 bWAR, his best season since his 2019 MVP season, according to the metric.
If he can perform at this level again next year, the Dodgers will be happy to pay a premium for the outfielder, although the competition to sign him will drive up his value significantly.
