The Dodgers (82-64) have finally dealt with things in their last series, sweeping the Rockies in La to finally see some success against a Sub.500 team. Unfortunately, the Rockies remained lost in San Diego last night, so the Dodgers lead the NL West with 2.5 games and today arrive 4.5 from the Phillies for the 2-Seede in the NL. Today they open a three -match set to the north against the rising giants. The Giants seemed dead in the water and sold light at the deadline, but won 14 of their last 18 games (and in one piece won 11 out of 12) to crawl back in the race. They are still eight back of the Dodgers, but are only 1.5 back of the collapsing Mets for the last Wild Card spot that comes in today’s games. Tonight also a piece of seven games in 10 days between the Dodgers and Giants, which should have quite heavy PlayOFF implications. Both series between the Dodgers and Giants have looked fairly similar, with the Giants win the first games of the series before the Dodgers take the next two.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Get the ball today, and as I even have to talk about his last start. Yama was famous from a no-hitter and admitted a Homer Jackson Holliday To lose his offer. Nothing wildly or bad happened after Yamamoto was drawn, especially the Dodger Bullpen managed to get one. It started a pretty incredible week of starting pitching of the Dodgers, with Clayton Kershaw In the worst start of the last week (5 2/3 innings, two runs). The 112 throws of Yamamoto were a new career high and his 10 strikeouts corresponded to a career high. Yamamotas previous career-high in Worp was 110 and he followed that start with a strong start in Cleveland. Six days after throwing 110 in seven innings, Yamamoto allowed two points and three hits about six innings and was drawn after 88 throws. Yamamoto started this season in both series against the Giants with very different results. He struggled in LA and allowed five points, six hits and two gayers over 4 2/3 innings. He started a month later in San Francisco and previously threw seven shutout Tanner Scott Blew the save, but the Dodgers won in extras.

The Dodgers get their first look Justin Landlander Like a giant. The 4.09 ERA from Vermerlander is the lowest it has been since his first start of the season after a six-inning shutout in St. Louis previous time-out. Four of the last seven starts of Landander have been scoreless, but he was also turned upside down twice at the time. He allowed five points and 11 hits in five innings against the NATS on 10 August and allowed six runs to six hits in 4 1/3 innings in San Diego on the 21st. Verlander has only allowed one homer in this piece and although he has not been dealing with a number of upper violations, it is still a strong piece for a man who looked extremely crops a few months ago. Somehow, the 20-year-old vet has only confronted four times with the Dodgers in the regular season in his career. The last time he saw the Dodgers, was in 2023, when he allowed three points and allowed six (!) Walks in five innings as one with. The former Astro has seen Shohei Ohtani And Mookie Betts Quite a bit in his career and usually dominated them. Ohtani is 5-out-23 with two gay and 10 strikeouts in 23 record performances against Landander, and Betts is 1-out-19 with two free runs and two strikeouts in 21 record performances.

The 42-year-old has seen a bit of a speed of last season, on average 94.1 km / h on his fastball. He has thrown it 46 percent of the time and also thrown a slider (23.2 percent), curve (14.8 percent), change (9 percent), sweeper (6.5 percent) and reportedly thrown eight sinkers. His Fastball is his only supply with a touch of 20 percent (barely at 19.1 percent).

Will Smith Stay out of the line -up after he was scratched for Wednesday’s game. Dalton Hurry continues his rehabilitation at OKC and Chuckie Robinson Is in the line -up, so it doesn’t seem to be a panic yet. It is supposedly available for the bank if necessary when his MRI came back clean and the swelling came down on his hand. Tommy Edman Gets his second start back from the IL, starting with the second with the normal alignment of the outfield.

——

Roki Sasaki Stays in OKC for at least another turn.

Sasaki delivered the last time -out in a very encouraging start, completely dominating for four innings before the wheels fell a bit in the fifth. His speed was up, he got whiffs (eight strikeouts after he never got more than five in his 12 starts in the Majors/AAA) and he all allowed three Honkers (two walks) about those first four innings. They also say that Sasaki had to do with a bit of a veal problem in his last start, so rehabilitation is therefore the maximum 30 days extended. He could return after his next start and could be back as a reliever (although, though, why does he not let him just make the year strong in the minors and start again next season).

——

Ohtani is skipped for the series in SF, but starts one of the first two games against the Phillies.

Emmet Sheehan Would be at normal rest on Monday and would have an extra day on Tuesday. If Ohtani started on Tuesday, he might only have one start left. If he starts on Monday and they keep the six-man rotation, even with their remaining day, Ohtani would stand in line to start the last game of the regular season.

——

The first pitch is planned at 7:15 pm PT and is on Sportnet LA.
