What was once a great force for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the bullpen looks like the biggest weakness on the way to the late season.
In the last 11 games, the Bullpen has a combined ERA of more than 7.00. The ‘Pen blew two leads against the Philadelphia Phillies in this most recent series – both resulting in losses on Monday and Tuesday.

Tanner Scott has not been consistent at all, Michael Kopech cannot find the Slagzone, Kirby Yates looks like a shell of his former self, Ben Casparis was recently chosen for Triple-A, and Blake Trains looked nothing like the devastating force he was last year.
Apart from Anthony Banda and Alex Vesia, the team projects heavily on four young pitchers (Emmet Sheehan, Edgardo Henriquez, Justin Wrobleski, Jack Dreyer) with practically zero zero after the season.
Unlike that, everything is just peachy.
There is real worries about the bullpen with the late season less than two weeks. When demanding the situation as a whole, manager Dave Roberts told Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register those are bullpen arms will continue to get opportunities To reverse things.
“It just tries to see which boys perform with opportunities,” said Roberts. “I thought that Tanner (Scott), for example, the last two trips were very good. That is really good to see. So, just try to find out who will seize the chance. They will continue to get opportunities and we will see how it takes place.”
Fortunately for the Dodgers there is still time for the bullpen to get some confidence back. Scott seems to be in a much better rhythm about his last few outings. He looked like the ‘old’ Scott while closing the 5-0 win over the Phillies on Wednesday evening.
Brock Stewart may get Roki Sasaki back, because right-handed bullpen options can help to promote the trust that the team has in the field of a group that can be a supplement to what a dominant start rotation has been in the past month.
