Florenceville-Bristol Department Hands Out Firework Service Awards

September 29, 2025, Florenceville, NB-the Florenceville-Bristol Firework Department gathered at the Florenceville Kins Club on Friday 19 September to celebrate the dedication and dedication of 19 members during their annual Services Banket.

Local dignitaries, including district of Carleton North Burgemeester Andrew Harvey and the MLA Margaret Johnson, were present and offered their congratulations to the recipients. Mayor Harvey said it was a “privilege to attend the ceremony and to think about the incredible community service that the firefighters offer to the region.

Carleton-Victoria Mla Margaret Johnson spoke to the firefighters and called them “the source of hope” during the unprecedented firework Season that hit New Brunswick this summer.

After a meal from the relatives, the award ceremony was opened with comments from Provincial Firework Researcher Matt Cassidy, who offered a “huge thanks to everyone who thanked volunteers”.

Cassidy spoke about the challenges and dangers with which firefighters are confronted and called their sacrifice “unreal” for what they endure.

Florenceville-Bristol Firework Chief Andrew Cougle contributed to the comments of Cassidy and called firefighters ‘the heart of our community’ and said that prizes were about honoring the ‘dedication, courage and countless hours of training and service’ of local firefighters.

Coulle also spoke about the extensive community service of the firefighters in the district, including volunteering to help with parking and security with community events, following public education and donating their time or equipment for fundraising events, in addition to many other services that emphasize their important role in the community.

Members received certificates from the Carleton North district and the province of New Brunswick. The Dear Richard Bragdon, who was unable to attend the ceremonies of the evening, gave federal recognition certificates of the Lower House for those who had served 15+ years.
