Manchester United had to dig deep to get a last-minute winner thanks to Bruno Fernandes to refrain from the challenge of Burnley with 3-2 in Old Trafford on Saturday.

This was United’s first Premier League victory of the season, and it should have been a foregone conclusion given the large number of openings created by the home team in the first 45 minutes.

But they went during the break with only one goal of one goal, and that is always dangerous in the English top flight, and they were quickly made to pay after the restart.

It was something of a fool when it came out of nowhere. Bruun Larsen had hectare space on the left of United to cross, and Lyle Foster made the best in the defensive decline to score in goal beyond Altay Bayindir.

Sloppy goal

Diogo Dalot was nowhere to be seen, while Luke Shaw let his husband walk in front of him. Former Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has sustained them for losing their heads at that time to let the clarets back in the game.

“It is really a sloppy goal to admit from a position of Manchester United. As soon as Dalot and Shaw occupy the center-back positions, they have to open their body position.

“From a defensive point of view you have to scan, you can’t mark the space, it’s really sloppy,” he said Premier League Productions.

The Portugal International was terrible to that goal, but after that he gathered his act. He has found the opportunities difficult to come by with Ruben Amorim who prefers Patrick Dorgu and Amad for him.

Much to improve

Saturday was his first start in the Premier League, with the former Porto Ace who started at Left Wingback with Amad on the right.

As far as Luke Shaw is concerned, he started the new season pretty well, and until Lisandro Martinez recovers from an injury, the international of England will probably take the left center-back position as long as he can stay fit.

Fortunately, despite their mistake, United Gallant fought back and Bryan Mbeumo gave an immediate response. Burnley immediately equalized afterwards, but the home team never gave up and eventually the skipper won the game with a last-minute penalty.

Hopefully United can wear this momentum ahead with huge matches against Manchester City and Chelsea who come after the international break.
