Luckknow Super Giants (LSG) Spinner Digvesh Rathi has been difficult while playing for South Delhi Superstarz in the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2025). Rathi was involved in a heated exchange with West Delhi Lions -opener Ankit Kumar during the 7th game of the DPL 2025 in Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday 5 August.

Digvesh Rathi attracted the attention with an impressive IPL 2025 season for the Luckknow franchise. His breakthrough came to the Delhi Premier League in August 2024, where the 25-year-old cricket player appeared as the striking bowler for South Delhi Superstarz and one of the top performers of the competition in general.

West Delhi Lions chased a target of 186 with eight wickets in hand and 26 balls over. Ankit Kumar scored 96 from 46 balls and hit 11 four and six sixths. He just fell on four runs in the 16th.

Ankit shared an opening position of 158 run with Krish Yadav, which contributed 67 by 42 deliveries. Captain Nitish Rana and Ayush Doseja completed the chase.

Previously, Rana chose to first bowl after winning the throw. South Delhi placed 185/7, with contributions from Kunwar Bidhuri (42), Sumit Mathur (33) and Ayush Badoni (48). However, regular wickets in the last phases of the innings have done their momentum. Anirudh Chowdhury took three wickets.

This was the second consecutive defeat of the Supersterz. Digvesh Rathi has yet to open his Wicket count in the tournament and will be happy to have an impact in their next match against Central Delhi Kings on August 7.

Digvesh Rathi was purchased for £ 30 Lakh by Luckknow Super Giants in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. The Spinner ended the season as LSG’s top-wicket-maker with 14 scalp from 13 games on an average of 30.64 and an economy of 8.25.

Rathi worried consistently of top order batters in all phases of the game. After his IPL success, he became one of the best paid players in the second edition of the Delhi Premier League.

South Delhi Superstarz acquired him for £ 38 Lakh, making him the second most expensive signing of the auction. Only Simarjeet Singh put on a higher bid, with Central Delhi Kings securing it for £ 39 Lakh. Nitish Rana van West Delhi Lions was the third highest at £ 34 Lakh.
