“Mr. Kirk Burrows’ allegations that my son hit me… are inaccurate and patently false,” she said.
The Netflix documentary ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning’ is the talk of the town for its salacious details of acts Diddy is alleged to have committed, and his mother, Janice Combs, has attacked the documentary for ‘inaccuracies’ she says are in the document.
According to TermCombs pushed back on what was said in various interviews and stories in the document about her son, his upbringing and her role in raising him, as well as other things she said were done to “further damage” her and her son’s reputations.
“I am writing this statement to correct some of the lies presented in Netflix’s ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning’ released on December 2, 2025,” she told the media. “These inaccuracies regarding my son Sean’s upbringing and family life were deliberately done to mislead viewers and further damage our reputation.”
She denied allegations that she was an abusive parent and also that there was a physical altercation between them, allegedly provoked by Diddy.
She specifically addressed an accusation that Diddy punched her after the deadly celebrity match (in which nine people died after being attacked at the gym entrance) at City College in New York City in 1991. Diddy’s former business partner, Kirk Burrows, made this claim in one episode of the docuseries.
“Mr. Kirk Burrows’ allegations that my son hit me while we were talking after the tragic events at City College on December 28, 1991 are inaccurate and patently false,” Combs said. “That was a very sad day for all of us.
“For him to use this tragedy and include false stories to further his past failed and current attempt to obtain what was never his, Bad Boy Records is wrong, outrageous and historically offensive.”
In the statement, she also disputed what Diddy’s childhood friend, Tim “Dawg” Patterson, said about how she treated her son as a child. Patterson grew up with Diddy and was a close friend of the mogul.
She ended her letter by saying, “I request that these distortions, falsehoods and misleading statements be publicly retracted.”
Diddy is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence at Fort Dix, New Jersey, after being convicted in July under the Mann Act on two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution.
