The Phoenix Suns have taken their selection back a lot since last season after they had taken Kevin Durant and added other players to the mix. The central position in particular has seen a huge overhaul and the Suns will arrive this season with a quartet of rim -boundary centers. This fits perfectly alongside Devin Booker and makes his play responsibilities easier.
Booker has waited to play with real LOB threats
All four of the current Suns Centers – OSO ighodaro, Kaman Maluach, Nick Richards and Mark Williams – are athletic edge rollers who are great in catching lobbs. For Devin Booker and the other guards on the sun, this should make their lives easier, because they can often just vomit it for the big man to finish.

The Suns have less proven Point Guards in their selection than just about any other team, so everything to simplify the game for their game makers is a huge advantage.
Athletic Randlopers have been a missing element for the Suns in recent seasons. The last two seasons were their opening day starter Jusuf Nurkic – a bruising, but not the best Lob Finisher.
Before that they started Deandre Ayton for a number of years. Ayton certainly has a better athletics than Nurkic, but often prefers to be confronted and shoots your mid -range jumpers instead of rolling hard to the edge.
In the first preseason of the Suns on Friday, Devin Booker made full use of the new athletics of the Suns in the middle. If the de facto starting point guard of the team threw booker 7 assists in the course of the game and many of them were fit that resulted in Dunks of Centers.
Booker reached deep in his passing game and brought out some wrapping to get his bigs open on the edge, in addition to more standard bounce passes and the lobs that will inevitably follow in the regular season.
Both Booker and Jalen Green, who has been declared the Suns real starting point guard, will be asked to give the ball further this season than their normal preferences. Both are able to make games for others, especially when they are doubled by opposing defenses, but it does not naturally come for them as a typical NBA point guard.
The decision of the Suns to stock up on so many high-flying and hard-dunning centers will make the attack a lot easier for their decision makers.
There is also an additional advantage that Bigs van Relbenszen do not try to do too much outside of their role. With boys like Ayton they are more liable to try inefficient shots from their own ego, but the new corps or centers of the Suns is happy to reset the attack instead of forcing a springer or poorly advised post sequence.
