The Phoenix Suns brought a number of enormous roster changes this summer, and they all revolved around Devin Booker the center of their organization. Connecting to the 28-year-old with a two-year extension of $ 145 million was the way owner Mat Ishbia to double the native star, and the responsibility is now up to him to deliver in a great way in 2025-26.
No matter how difficult it is to believe, but Booker was neither an all-star or was even a serious candidate for an all-NBA selection if we are honest. The recent unveiling of the team of competitions at least suggests that Booker remains popular abroad, but he is almost overlooked in competition rings and is no longer seen as a top 10 player in the NBA.
Tim Legler thinks that Booker is about to have the best campaign for a career.
The always entertaining and informative Tim Medicine jumped on the All NBA -Podcast To talk about all things Western Conference, and not surprising, the Suns came in the conversation relatively early. Legler was free that Booker changed his game completely for Team USA at the Olympic Games a year ago, before he supported the player to accept the oncoming challenge of this season in a different way.
Now that the team is now turning booker again, Legler expects that so far he will strike one of his best seasons in the competition. In theory that sounds like the right way to approach this, Booker will get all the touches and appearance he wants. Another All -Star called -no matter how bad their record is -must be expected, while a return to an All -NBA team must also be on the table.
But two important events that could unfold during the course of the season would prevent that. The first is that Booker does not get any help at all, until the point that the suns at the bottom of the conference get away. If Jalen Green struggles and none of the rookies contributes, this will be a long season.
Not even 30 a night would give that fact some shine, so Booker needs at least one or two of his teammates to help him along the way. If that is the case – and there is no reason to believe that that cannot happen – then Legler is right to say that Booker could return in a large way. However, the issue of the point watch position is of greater care.
Some people believe that Green will start the campaign with one, a position with which he does not have much experience. If that is the case – and if things are not going well – Booker can be returned to that place. In the last two seasons, he made both his career heights in assists in assists and then broken – and although that just does not indicate success – we know that he can be selfless when needed.
That could derail what a season should be in which Legler places his wish and booker Carrires high in points, use and touches every evening. Look at this from the most cynical point of view, and booker who does it all will only increase his commercial value, which would suit everyone in the long term.
