Few NBA players have been just as respected in recent seasons as Devin Booker, although it is not difficult to see why. While some of the boys who were drawn up after he was in 2015, led their franchises to championships, Booker went back instead as soon as Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal were added to the mix.
It is a sign, both of how difficult it is to be really great in this competition with a touch overlooked for a good measure that the 28-year-old only made an All-NBA team twice in his 10-year career. Not even named an All-Star in 2024-25 represented a new low point, because Booker has always connected to the casual fans for his elite offensive game.
Game Theory Podcast does not respect booker for a new layer.
We have reached the point in the low season where everything can be packed as news, and that was certainly the case with the last of the Game theory podcast. Both Sam Vecenie and Bryce Simon always give measured and informative takes – but by placing booker under Karl -anthony Towns in their redraft of the 2015 class – they might have lost the plot completely.
Towns is clearly offensive elite in his own way, but he has never led an organization in the way this booker has. In other words, if you asked a fan of New York Knicks in your life that they would rather have next season – or one of the last 10 – between Booker and Towns, who do you think they would choose? Precisely.
Booker Let’s Not Forget has previously led a team to the NBA final, and if there is something that a interfering front office had prevented it to happen again. They were right to go further from Chris Paul when they did that, but to trade it afterwards for Beal was a disaster. This also applies to the trade for Jusuf Nurkic, even this third choice South Sudanese big man nowadays looks the more attractive player.
Although he is only named after a few all -NBA teams – who feels too low – Booker is the only player in his concept class that is once named after a first team. That was the same season in 2021-22 when he also finished fourth in MVP voices, the third time he was called an All-Star. If there is something, the only argument here is that Booker has fallen off the past two years.
The arrival of Durant probably has something to do with his fourth All-Star nod in 2023-24, without selection the year before or after. Adding one of the best scorers of all time is the price he had to pay to try to fight again, only we know that has not happened now.
We know that this is just a bit fun, because the competitive games stay away from the weather for a while, but it is also not even a conversation. There are others who, instead, believe that Booker is ready for the kind of bouncer season that we have never seen from him before, and you can bet it will be surpassed again. How was this even a debate?
