To date, tell us a bit about yourself and your career rodte.

I grew up in South California and worked various customer service and shopping roles while studying. I spent a few years as a legal assistant before I moved to Houston, where I worked in both small companies and business environments – as an HR manager, executive assistant and desk coordinator.

When I moved to Austin, I accepted a role of recruitment coordinator who thought it would be a temporary solution while I continued to look for a job. A month later the company was taken over by Godaddy and, after I was introduced to the team, my feelings shifted to the role in a more positive direction. The Godaddy team was open to feedback and cooperation in a way that I had not experienced in a business environment. I now work as a senior recruitment operations specialist and have been with the company for six years.

What has your growth most driven through your career?

Developing the trust to take the initiative. I trust my ideas enough to invest the time and effort in building projects that can demonstrate their value.

Can you describe a project or initiative that you have implemented that had a significant impact on the recruitment process?

When I started, the team had implemented a new system and investigated ways to improve a care process. I didn’t have much experience in the new system, but wanted to participate in brainstorming. I hesitantly presented an idea in which recruiters manage aspects of their application separately. The team not only listened to moved to implement the idea quickly. The process has changed in the last six years since then, but that moment has noticed because it helped me to regain part of the confidence that I had lost in earlier roles and encouraged me to contribute more.

I recently enjoyed finding opportunities where processes can be standardized or simplified. If a worldwide company is often easier said than done – individual teams have specific needs, not to mention that every country, region and place can have unique regulations and requirements. That complexity is a challenge, but also exciting and forces me to think creatively and strategically.

Can you share a memorable advice that a mentor has given you that you are still applying for today?

“Be the type of person you would like to work with.” It is simple, but a good memory to be responsible, empathetic and positive in my interactions – because that is the type of person I want to work with.

What are some ways in which you feel supported by Godaddy?

I appreciate the options for giving and receiving feedback about our own performance and for others. It helps me to think, to stay in accordance with my goals and to discuss career development.

I am also proud of working for a company that runs consistently when it comes to a focus on diversity and inclusion. It is clear in our recruitment methods, policy and ergs. We always introduce new tools and processes to ensure that our candidates get a fair and fair experience.

What do you like to do outside of work?

If it is not too hot in Austin, I try to go out and enjoy all the live music, parks and entertainment that the city has to offer. I occasionally enjoy a camping trip, music festival and still have many places that I would like to exceed from my travel bucket list. However, my favorite thing is just hanging with friends (and my cat) who have a great conversation, cook, watch movies, be lazy around the house. 9 out of 10 times I will choose the stay during the holidays!
