Derby County have not yet received any approach for Patrick Agyemang and according to him they will not proceed with a sale Derbyshire Live.

Derby County signed striker Patrick Agyemang in the summer transfer window and signed him a deal worth up to £7.3 million from Charlotte FC. The American powerhouse was also a hit for DCFC, with seven goals and three assists in 24 championship games.

The 25-year-old had operated behind the number nine early on, but has taken on the leading role well in Carlton Morris’ absence. There is excitement about Agyemang’s future given the way he has established himself and progressed early on.

And earlier this week it was claimed his performances had attracted interest from the Premier League. Leeds United and Crystal Palace are said to have approached the Rams star.

But now, Derbyshire Live has said that Derby County received no such interest. Furthermore, the Championship side have no interest in selling Agyemang just months after his arrival at Pride Park.

Little surprise about Patrick Agyemang’s strict attitude in Derby County

It is not impossible that Agyemang has admirers. His rapid success at Derby County and his physical profile make him an attractive prospect in an increasingly competitive striker market.

However, it is no surprise that DCFC are not interested in selling him. There are benefits to a quick win, but the Rams will feel like they can earn more in the long run as Agyemang continues to develop his game.

The striker is only a few months into his English football career and having come through the university system in America, he has a lot more experience to gain. It is hoped he can refine the more technical aspects of his game over time and become a truly well-rounded option at the top of the pitch.

At that moment, Derby County stands to win big.

Will Derby County do more business this winter?

Derby County have only made two signings this winter transfer period. Dion Sanderson’s loan was made permanent and long-term goalkeeper Oscar Fraulo joined from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Lately, eyes have been focused on leaving. Promotion-winning trio Ebou Adams, Curtis Nelson and Ryan Nyambe have joined Portsmouth, MK Dons and Reading respectively.

Now that the injuries have been resolved, the squad at Pride Park looks well-stocked. A new left-back could be on the radar following the early expiry of Owen Beck’s loan spell, but other than that no major business is expected.

Eustace will focus on finding consistency on the pitch ahead of rivals West Brom next Friday.
