Democrat announces candidacy for attorney -general in Georgia

A former representative of the Democratic State was introduced to the elections to succeed the Republican Chris Carr as attorney general.

Former home leader Bob Trammell On Wednesday, the first Democrat to announce his candidacy to become the best lawyer of the state and said that he wants to “make real change” during a tumultuous era.

“At a time when Georgians feel the pressure of an irregular economy, business corruption, treacherous fraud and scams and the erosion of our rights, Georgians deserve someone who will fight for them,” said Luthersville’s lawyer.

Carr runs for the governor and the race to follow him up is wide open.

Two republicans are already competing for the office: is Senator Brian Strickland, R-Mcdonough, a lawyer who is chairman of the Senate Judges Committee; and Senator Bill Cowsert, R-Athens, a lawyer who is chairman of the Senate Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee.

Strickland submitted a campaign contribution on July 8, showing that he had picked up $ 435,000. Cowsert submitted one on the same day to show that he had brought in $ 531,000. Trammell registered his intention to raise money on 1 July, but did not submit a contributing report.

Trammell grew up in Lutherville in Meriwether County and served as a provincial attorney. He was also the top democrat in the Staatshuis, as a minority leader of 2017-2021.

He graduated from the University of Georgia and the University of Virginia School of Law. He and his wife Jenny, a pharmacist, have three children.
