Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) has submitted a resolution to Censure Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Co) about comments she made about Rep. Al Green (D-TX) after he had disrupted President Donald Trump’s address for a joint session of the congress.

In a message on X, Jake Sherman, the founder of Punchbowl News unveiled That Houlahan had submitted a resolution to censor Boebert about comments she made during an interview about Real America’s Voice News. During the interview, Boebert stated that it was “absolutely disgusting” of Green “to shake his pimp stick in President Trump” during Trump’s speech.

According to Sherman, the text of Houlahan’s resolution says:

While on March 7, 2025, during an interview with Real America’s Voice News, representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado, said: “For him to shake his pimp strip” about another member, representative from Texas, the Lord Al Green;

While the words of the representative from Colorado are contemptuous and racist in the direction of another colleague, and are a violation of good behavior and decorum of the American house of representatives

Solved, that –

(1) Representative Lauren Boebert is censored;

(2) Representative Lauren Boebert immediately presents himself in the well of the House of Representatives for the pronunciation of Censure; And

(3) Representative Lauren Boebert is censored with the public reading of this resolution by the speaker.

Boebert’s comments come after house speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) warned an unmanageable crowd of Democrats that they “had to maintain and maintain in the house” and ordered them to “stop further disruptions”.

“Members are working on intentional and continuous violation of the decorum, and the chair is willing to lead the sergeant in weapons to restore order to the joint session,” Johnson then warned Democrats to continue their disruptive behavior.

After he had asked Green several times to take a seat, Johnson continued to direct “the sergeant in weapons to restore order” and called on the fact that Green was removed from the room.

“The fact that members continue to participate in a deliberate and joint disruption of the right decorum, the chair now gives the sergeant to the poor to restore order,” said Johnson.

On March 6, the house voted 224-198-2 to censor Green for his behavior during Trump’s address for the congress. As Sean Moran van Breitbart News reported: “Green got up, waved his stick and screamed” to Trump after the president claimed that he “had a” mandate “of the American people.”

Houlahan was one of the ten Democrats who joined Republicans to censor green about his behavior, explain at the Philadelphia Inquirer That she voted for censoring Green because she believes that legislators must ‘acknowledge’ that there are ‘rules in the house of representatives’ and that there are ‘standards for decorum’ to which everyone has agreed.

The Democratic Congressman from Pennsylvania added that after the mood Johnson she “pulled aside and had a very strong conversation” in which she explained that she had voted for censoring green, but that she “is not in order with random and wicked applications of the same rule.” Houlahan noted authorities in which Republican legislators were not censored or punished about their disruptive behavior.
