According to the Delhi police, the accused, a Rajasthani man had traveled to Pakistan twice, first in August 2024 and again in March 2025, and stayed there for about 90 days.
The police of Delhi have arrested a man from Rajasthan for supposed Pakistani intelligence services (PIOs) by supplying Indian mobile SIM cards for espionage activities, civil servants said Thursday.
The accused, identified as Kasim (34), had traveled to Pakistan twice – first in August 2024 and again in March 2025 – and stayed there for about 90 days, they said.
During his visits, he is suspected of having met Pakistan’s Spy Agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), said a high police officer.
Kasim, a resident of the village of Gangora in the Deeg district, was arrested earlier in the day and is currently in police custody, the officer said.
“In September 2024, the special cell input input received that Indian mobile numbers were abused by PIOs to collect sensitive information with regard to the Indian army and government institutions. These mobile SIM cards were reportedly obtained in India and sent the border across the border with the help of Indian subjects,” the officer said.
With the help of social media on these Indian Sims, Pio’s contacted Indians to extract classified information with regard to sensitive installations and departments, he said.
The officer added that after the input a case was registered under the correct sections of the law and an investigation was started. During the investigation, the name of Kasim went upstairs and further probe revealed his travel history to Pakistan and suspected ties with ISI staff.
Further research is underway to expose the full size of the espionage network and to identify other Indian employees involved in the conspiracy, the police said.
