Kentucky Downs Partnership with McLoyd and Stridesafe

Kentucky Downs Release

Franklin, Ky.-To-To Opens The meeting on Thursday, Kentucky Downs will make use of a brand new timing mechanism born of a strategic partnership between McLloyd-a world leader in the tracking of horse racing and stridesafe, the Kentucky-based Sensor-Dischardseseseseseses. This collaboration combines more accurate racetiming (within 0.01 seconds and 25 cm distance of rough accuracy) and biometrics with thousands of safety data points in one sensor, making it the first of its core designed to take advantage of horses, jockeys and sport as a whole.

Kentucky Downs co-mission partner Ron Winchell celebrates this decision as an important progress for the industry that connects superior tracking with welfare.

“I really wanted to bring in a system that was more accurate and moved the ball forward,” he said.

Winchell, an old advocate for Stridesafe, is of the opinion that linking the with such a refined tracking system is a natural and strategic fit.

“Now you can get the sectional timing and the Stridesafe Welfare data together,” he said. “They combine to become a powerful tool that has consequences for not only racing in the US but worldwide.”

Dr. David Lambert, CEO of Stridesafe, points to a different advantage of the collaboration.

“Racing, like any company, must manage the costs,” he said. “The life -saving technology of Stridesafe has been proven, so our next priority makes it more accessible. That was an important factor in our decision to collaborate with McLloyd.”

The companies that manage this initiative – Stridemaster (Australia), Stridesafe (US) and McLoyd (France) – bring more than 30 years of combined experience with applying sensors to racing horses. This depth of experience ensures the highest technical standards, so that the sensor can withstand strict racing conditions and at the same time record accurate, life -saving data.

Since 2022, McLoyd has established itself as a leader in this technology that applies to the Race industry with more than 120,000 horses that have been followed every year around the world. CEO William Dien is looking forward to bringing the technology to Kentucky Downs.

“Tackling the well-being and integrity of horses, in addition to temporary employment and performance domains, marks a new era for our solution,” he said. “We are really proud and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this progress.”

Among McLloyd -Belangrijk partners are France Galop (Parislongchamp), the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Le Trot (French Harness Racing) and Hollywood bets in South Africa. The precision of the data and the reliability of the real -time transmission is supported by four patents, with more breakthroughs on the horizon.

Winchell’s vision on the impact of the partnership is simple. “Hopefully this will help other traces and systems with improvements,” he said. “Simply put, riders and horse players need more accurate data.”
