Jaden McDaniels is the ultimate Lijmman for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the past two seasons. The 6-foot-9 attacker is one of the best defensive stoppers of the competition that are able to close both elite protectors and wings. McDaniels turns 25 before the season starts, and many people believe that he has a different level to reach as a score.
Last season, the Washington product flashes of its offensive advantage, with an average career high 12.2 points and 14.7 points in the play -offs. The season turned for McDaniels when the calendar turned around. He on average 13.9 points and showed more aggression as a shot maker during the 2025 part of the season. During the Play -offs, McDaniels combined this aggression as a maker with the precipitation of the deep ball with a fast pace, 38.2 percent shooting from outside the arch.
Interestingly, McDaniels shot 42 percent from 3-point country for his career in the play-offs, but only 34.8 percent from outside the arc in the regular season. For the wolves to maximize their title opportunities, McDaniels will hit triples with a more efficient rate, the key. If McDaniels does not shoot well from outside the arch, he must at least be aggressive in attack.
The wolves depend on McDaniels as a 3-point shooter
One of the more subdivided parts of Nickeil Alexander-Walker who leaves in the free desk is how this affects J-Mac. Losing their second best defender on the ball will put even more pressure on McDaniels. Offensing, the wolves need more spot-up shooting and secondary creation. While the young players help to fill the emptiness of NAW, they will also count more on McDaniels.
The wolves are in fifth place in 3-Pointers that were made last season, and they have to keep this level of shooting to make a deep play-off run. Apart from Anthony Edwards, however, the wolves do not have much photographing in their starting line -up, especially with Mike Conley Aging. As a result, the wolves count on McDaniels to hit 3S with an efficient clip.
McDaniels shooting at an efficient pace leads to winning
When McDaniels shot 40 percent or more of 3, the Wolves placed an excellent 25-9 record in the regular season. Conversely, they were 24-24 when he shot under 40 percent from outside. 40 percent or higher shooting of 3-point country in 34 games is certainly a positive sign. The problem is that McDaniels is not consistent; In 22 games he did not hit any outer shot. The figures are clear: When McDaniels shoots well, the wolves are an elite team; If he is not, they will be on average.

McDaniels has demonstrated flashes as a consistent spot-up shooting threat. In addition to his play-off figures, McDaniels shot 39.9 percent from outside the arch in the 2022-23 season. For the wolves to reach their title ambitions, the 3-point shooting of McDaniels will be a crucial factor. It is not far-fetched to enter his age-25 season and given the solid flashes he has shown, it is not far-fetched to expect McDaniels to develop a consistent 3-point shot.
