De Minaur beats Ruud to win the last UTS event of 2025

It may be the first week of December, but tennis is still being played.

The 2026 UTS Grand Final was held this weekend in London, where Alex de Minaur collected the trophy. De Minaur defeated Casper Ruud on Sunday 11-15, 15-10, 15-11, 16-7 in the championship match of this short tournament.

This marks the second consecutive UTS Grand Final success for the seventh-placed Australian, who also triumphed in London last year.

“It’s great to win here again,” assured De Minaur. “London is a special place for me and it’s my home now, so it’s always great to play at this event and even better to win again… I’ve had some tough games here this week and it’s always going to be tough to play Casper in the final, so it’s great to get through it.

“There is no rest for me now. I may take Monday off, but then I have to practice on the track again for the new season.”

Other participants in London included Andrey Rublev, Ugo Humbert, Tomas Machac, Adrian Mannarino, David Goffin and Francisco Cerundolo. Rublev and Humbert reached the semi-finals before losing to Ruud and De Minaur respectively earlier on Sunday.

Machac (Guadalajara), Ruud (Nimes) and Cerundolo (Hong Kong) were the champions of the three UTS events during the regular season, earning them places in the grand final. Machac also came second in Nîmes, while Goffin lost in the final of Guadalajara.
