Since a few years, the new life has browned Meyers Manx Coole Strandbuggies with a variety of drove lines VW Flat-four, three-cylinder radial and fully electric. But now, it builds something rather more powerful with the British Porsche Shop Tuthill Porsche. The LFG debuts on Monterey Car Week, a four-wheel drive, Flat-Six driven tribute to the Baja 1000-winning Meyers Manx of 1967. And yes, LFG stands for exactly what you think it does.

The carbon fiber bodywork of the LFG is the handicraft of Freeman Thomas, the designer of the Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. The press release from Meyers Manx was light on specifications, but it says that the car is available with a number of engine choices, including Tuthill’s square-cool air-cooled flat-six from the wild 911K. It also gets a sequential gearbox with six gears and front, central and rear differentials with limited slip. There are twins adjustable coilovers on every corner, and BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, of course.

Although the LFG has a closed cockpit complete with air conditioning, you can remove it in two minutes for the classic Open Air Buggy experience. Meyers Manx and Tuthill Porsche will also keep driving tours for owners to get the most out of their cars.

Meyers Manx and Tuthill Porsche have not announced a price, but expect it to be at least in the hundreds of thousands. The two plans to build 100 examples, and the first driving tour for owners is planned for 2027, the 50th anniversary of the Baja 1000 wins of Meyers Manx.

“The car looks nice, naughty, it has a character that I really never saw or felt,” says Tuthill Porsche Hoofd Richard Tuthill in a statement. “But underneath it is appropriate – can we go to the moon and go back in? Probably yes, it has the opportunity to go where we point out, and we can do it safely and comfortably.”
