The 2025 season for the Cincinnati Reds had his ups and his downs. The team made the play -offs, but they were not exactly good. Cincinnati ended the season strongly, but still finished 83-79. And then they were swept in the Play -offs when the franchise expanded the longest line in North -American professional sports to 30 years without entering the play -offs.
Reds President of baseball operations Nick Kall told Mark Sheldon of Reds.com on Monday morning that Terry Francona and his entire coaching staff will return for the 2026 season.
That certainly goes a few questions and concerns about the fan base, especially when it comes to those who are in charge of the violation. Reds batters did not have a good season. Nobody hit any power. Elly de la Cruz hit .264/.336/.440 and was easy to do the best player of Ops+ in the team when it comes to OPS+ and he was hardly above average. Among the returning players, nobody really took a step forward except for Noelvi Marte. Multiple batters took steps back.
It is difficult to make a good thing that Chris Valaika did well as a battle coach. The only good batter in the team was a man who got 103 battles and was taken over in the Merdeadline-Miguel Andujar. The team had a OPS+ of 90, which Ops is just adapted for the ballparks in which a team plays all year round (at home and gone). That was 26th in baseball and only better than the Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Guardians, Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies.
On the other hand, Derek is Johnson. The Pitching Staff as a whole was perhaps the best in all Major League baseball. Cincinnati’s ERA+, the era of a team that has been adapted to the margin that the team plays throughout the year, was 119. That was the best in Major League Baseball. That 119 ERA+ was the best by a Reds team since 2012 when they marked a competition.
