“She is ready to rock,” declared star trainer-leader Aiden De Campo when assessing the prospects of quality mare Champagne Everyone (Shadow play), who faces a serious test from the outside barrier (No. 9) on the front line in the 2130m free entry pace at Gloucester Park on Friday evening.

Champagne Everyone resumed in excellent form after a six-month absence with a classy maiden win at 2130 meters three Fridays ago, when she set the pace from barrier five and blazed through the lead time in 38.5 seconds. and opening a 400m section in 32.1 sec. and then sprint over the final three quarters in 29.5 sec., 28.3 sec. and 28.4 sec.

Then, a week later, Champagne Everyone was seen in a different role as she stormed home from tenth at the bell with a powerful three-wide strike to finish half a length second behind Dame Valor in the 2130m Coulson Pace.

“She was very good when she came second to Dame Valour, and she is probably the class runner in this week’s field – and that’s why she drew the outer barrier,” De Campo said. “It’s a winnable race in which the tactics will depend on how the speed is in her.”

In a fairly open event on Friday evening, Champagne Everyone’s main rival is likely to be the Mike Williams-trained Loch Tay, who will be ousted from the prized No. 1 barrier by Ryan Warwick in the five-year-old mare’s first clear since finishing fourth behind Maximum Rock over 2130 meters on October 24. Loch Tay has a good gate speed and is an excellent leader.

Ace trainer Kim Prentice has a strong hand in the race where he has three runners: Lenora Jane, Our Lililou and Soho Vesper Lind.

Mitchell Miller has chosen to pilot Soho Vesper Lind, who will start from barrier No. 6. Stuart McDonald will pilot Lenora Jane, and Our Lililou will be piloted by Liam Elliott, who has ridden the six-year-old with strong wins over 1177m and 1684m at Pinjarra in her last two starts.

Our Lililou will start from barrier number 4, and Lenora Jane will start from barrier three after finishing second in her two most recent outings.
