Davenport took over the role in 2024 and has since led the US team to a strong 5-2 record, including a run to this year’s Finals, the first in the US since 2018. One of the most talented US Billie Jean King Cup players in history, Davenport helped secure three titles during her playing career (1996, 1999 and 2000).
“It is an incredible honor to serve as USA Billie Jean Cup captain I’m happy and humbled to continue doing this, especially during such a great time for women’s tennis in America” said Davenport. “We have so many great ladies who compete and win at the highest level all year round, and it is a privilege to work with them as they wear the red, white and blue. I am really looking forward to what we can achieve together in the coming years.”
The American team will return to action in April for the 2025 qualifying roundwith both the opponent and the location yet to be determined.
