A video circulated on social media of Jones enjoying Chechen cuisine during his recent trip to Russia, where he used exotic weapons with Ramzan Kadyrov and made wrestling-related jokes with Khamzat Chimaev.

Comments emerged on the referenced video of Jones enjoying Chechen food, with a former two-time opponent of Jones offering his thoughts. With an accompanying screenshot taken by X user @ChampRDS Along with the video of Jones eating, Daniel Cormier said:

Daniel Cormier may have gotten a third competitive restart with Jon Jones, albeit in a completely different sport. There is a lot of campaigning on the MMA front for Jon Jones to compete on the UFC White House card against Alex Pereira, but Jones has also teased a potential wrestling match with DC.

The former two-division UFC champion was discussing this potential three-peat with his fellow two-division UFC champion when Jones mentioned on X that he was presented with this competitive offer for charitable purposes. Jones was doing one of his retweet-based Q&A sessions, as he is wont to do at times, and in one of his answers, Jones said:

“I was recently approached about wrestling DC for charity, I said absolutely. Let’s see what comes of it. 3-0.”

Jones and Cormier have one of the most infamous feuds in mixed martial arts history, with a pair of huge matchups in 2015 and 2017 respectively. Jon Jones would win the first clash with the former Strikeforce heavyweight Grand Prix champion on points, initially securing a finish via strikes over Cormier in the rematch before the outcome was overturned to a no contest following erroneous drug test findings of Jonathan Dwight Jones.
