It is known that they look a lot for pitching upgrades at the deadline, with both long -term and short -term arms on the radar of the team. Two more names can be added to the Pitching search of Chicago, such as Patrick Moeney van de Athletics writes that Braves is getting closer Raisel Iglesias “Is one of the many options in consideration” for Bullpenhulp, and the Cubs are also “very interested in” the possibility to act for Nationale’s Southpaw Mackenzie Gore.

The era of the veteran Righty reflects the tendency of Iglesias to be particularly hit when he is hit, because 10 of his 23 earned points this season were included in just three trips (21 April against the Giants, 5 June against the Diamondbacks and 19 July against the Yankees).
It is clear that at the age of 35 Iglesias still has a lot left in the tank and could be a big help for a team that needs high-leverage relievers. The bullpen are not as striking as it seemed before the Cubs earlier in the season, but the Relief Corps has been shaky last month and adding Iglesias to the mix is a clear improvement. Daniel Valencia has been a revelation as the Cubs closer, but given his lack of a proven track record, Chicago would prefer to have an established closer like Iglesias at hand.
Gore seems a much more speculative pitcher on the wish list. National Interim GM Mike Debartolo recently said that his team intended to keep his young core at the deadline, and was made of the performance of Gore in that cornerstone Group and said it is “No focus of mine to move him. “There is apparently no hurry for Deartolo or the organization to consider acting a pitcher that is arranged by the 2027 season, and Moeney notes that an interim-all-generally director as Deartolo may not get the green light of ownership to draw the trigger on” a monumental decision “as the relocation of a pitcher.
Even if the door may not be completely closed on the possibility that Gore will be traded, the asking price of the NATS is not surprisingly ‘seen as a towering,’ Moeney writes. For more than two years of a frontline starter, it is easy to imagine that Washington demands several high-level prospects and at least one young player that is close to MLB. No matter how HIKS this is, the Cubs are perhaps one of the few teams that has enough Blue-Chip Minor League depth to at least consider the Nationals to act the 26-year-old All-Star.
