Crystal Palace won the Shield Community for the first time after a penalty shootout victory over Liverpool in Wembley.
The side of Oliver Glasner came twice from behind to level when an entertaining 90 minutes ended with 2-2, before they kept their nerve in the shooting.

In a fast start, Liverpool had opened the score within just four minutes of the seasonal increase of the season. New signing sessions Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz combined with the first to fire a low finish in the far corner.
Palace was Gen from the penalty spot 17 minutes. Virgil van Dijk put down awkward Ismaila Sarr in the area, with Jean-Philippe Mateta who sent Alisson in the wrong way from 12 meters.
Liverpool, however, was at the front again a little later. Jeremie Frimpong became the second debutant in Liverpool who scored, because the accidental effort of the right back Dean Henderson designed. Frimpong’s attempted cross to the distant pole fell over the goalkeeper to restore the benefit of the Reds.
Palace improved after the break and brought the game to a shootout. SARR scored 13 minutes from time, after Van Dijk’s offside staircase had left a huge opening for the winger to exploit. The Eagles then arrived late for a winner when replacement Justin Devenny shot just wide from the distant post of Alisson.
The bad fines of Liverpool started from the first kick, when Mohamed Salah ran over the bar. After Mateta had converted to Palace, Alexis Mac Allister missed Liverpool’s second, but Alisson’s salvation by Ebereechi Eze kept them in the game.
Cody Gakpo and Sarr exchanged fines before a tame attempt by Harvey Elliott Palace firm control.
Debutant Borna Sosa then crashed his efforts from the bar to miss the chance to win it, but the success of Palace was only delayed. Devenny hit a nerveless kick home to seal the second success of the club in Wembley in 85 days.
